Cindy Del Rio

Cindy Del Rio (b.1994) got her BFA Glass from the Rhode School of Design in 2018. Del Rio has shown at the OCCCA art gallery in 2022. She is an multimedia artist residing in Los Angeles and working in her studio developing her practice.

Del Rio work explores the idea of endless movement of Flow. Flow is time moving, Flow is light of love, Flow is darkness of suffering, Flow is life happening. Expressing her emotions through color, she allows the unconscious feeling to move her hand and place color within the flowing structures of the flowers. There are themes of longing, love, sadness, happiness, frustration and raw input of memories embedded in the image.

Del Rio chooses a basic pattern to lay a foundation, and within that foundation, she explores the freedom of translating her mind's visions into colors and images. During a deep artistic focus, vision flashes of her experiences get translated into color. Colors represent flow and emotions, as they are integral part of life. During the creative process, she explores the notions of structure and chaos.
